People ask Lori why she became a wedding officiant. Here’s the story, short and sweet. She had friends looking for a Rabbi to perform a marriage ceremony for them and could not find one because they were a same-sex couple. They asked if she would become ordained because she knew the Jewish rituals and believed that love is love. That was Lori’s first ceremony in 2011.
“As a wedding officiant, I create and perform joyful, meaningful, and personalized non-denominational wedding ceremonies for ALL. I am also a romantic at heart and I love love!!” ~ Lori

Ceremonies by Lori has a strong contingency plan in place because the unexpected can happen. Whether it is illness, an emergency, severe weather, travel or transportation issues, equipment or technology failure, or another unforeseen circumstance, I always work to have a Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C.
In addition to our Ceremonies by Lori team members, I have built relationships with trusted officiants and vendors outside of our company who may be called upon when necessary. I also plan for backup equipment, alternative communication methods, and other solutions whenever possible.
While no one can prepare for every possible situation, my goal is to anticipate potential problems before they happen and have options ready. Most importantly, our couples should know that we will do everything reasonably possible to make sure they are supported and their ceremony can move forward as planned.
Yes! At Ceremonies by Lori, we believe your ceremony should reflect who you are as a couple. Depending on the package you choose, ceremonies can range from simple and meaningful to fully customized, incorporating your love story, personal vows, traditions, readings, unity ceremonies, and other elements that are important to you.
Absolutely. Ceremonies by Lori proudly welcomes all couples/marriers. We celebrate love in all its forms and are honored to work with LGBTQ+ couples, interfaith and multicultural couples, non-religious couples, and couples who want to blend different beliefs, traditions, or backgrounds into their ceremony.
Yes! Ceremonies by Lori is based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, but our officiants travel throughout Pennsylvania and beyond. We like to say, have passport, will travel! Travel fees may apply depending on the location, and we are happy to discuss those details with you before booking.
Of course! You are welcome to write personal vows, exchange traditional or repeat-after-me vows, include special readings, honor loved ones, incorporate cultural or family traditions, or add something completely unique to the two of you. We are also happy to offer guidance if you aren't quite sure where to begin.
