My big wedding packages do include a second shooter. My elopement packages do not.
A bonus session can be used for a number of things. I usually recommend using it for an engagement session so I can learn how best to photograph you and how you interact together, and so that you can be used to being in front of a camera. But you can also use it for an anniversary session, rehearsal dinner coverage, or even an extra hour of photo coverage on the wedding day.
I usually tell couples that can expect at least 100 photos per hour of coverage, but likely it will be more than that. Lots of factors play into how many photos are delivered, like travel time between locations, weather, and if the schedule is running on time. But for an 8-hour wedding, many couples end up with around 1000-1100 photos.
A 25% retainer fee is require to reserve the date. That fee is applied towards you package and the rest isn't due until 3 weeks before the wedding day for travel elopements or 2 weeks for big weddings.
For elopements, I'm both a photographer and a planning consultant. I guide my couples through the planning process, help with location recommendations that fit their vision and needs for the day, put together a timeline, assist with permits, and find other vendors couples may want to hire that day. I don't book other vendors, venues, or travel plans, but I do offer assistance and advice along the way.
